Every year as November rolls around, everyone starts gearing up for the holiday season. Corporate parties are abundant as are retail events, fashion shows, product launches, among others. Whether you’re part of the party scene or have to attend a lot of these functions for work. it can be exhausting. You literally set yourself up for a crash if you don’t take care but as long as you’re smart and organized, you can come out of this holiday season without feeling fatigued and burnt out
For most of you who have to attend functions or events straight after work wear clothes that can be changed into party gear when the cocktail hour starts. For instance, you can don a basic black shift dress to work and put on your coat and some pumps for a corporate look in the daytime. When it’s time to go to the event, take off your coat, layer on some pearls or chunky jewelry slip on some evening shoes and voila, you have an LBD—your very own little black dress.
Don’t have time to go to the beauty salon to get your hair and makeup done? Here are a few techniques you can follow. They’re really quite simple. Just slick your hair back with styling products and pull it into a chignon. Tie your hair in a ponytail at the base of your neck and twist until it balls up. Secure with pins and you’re done. Then, add chunky or dangling earrings and you will look ready to party.
If you want to leave your hair dawn, bring your curling iron and dash to the bathroom before leaving the office. Section your hair, twist the iron and be ready to have va va voom hair. Worried about your makeup? Go to the office in the morning with just foundation, blush and a light eye shadow. By 5 p.m., start piling on the eye shadow and touching up your blush. Wear a darker lip gloss with shimmer and you’re good to go.
Now that you have taken care of your makeup, hair and clothes; plan the rest of your evening. If you are showing your face because it’s a business function, make sure you greet ail the bosses and important contacts that are relative to your company’s business. After doing so, engage in a few minutes of small talk, have a cocktail or two and exit the party quietly. That way you can be home and in bed by 10 p.m. and look fresh the next morning. Sometimes, these functions come one after another so that you find yourself having to go at least three to four times a week, and that my friend, can be a bit tiresome for someone who has to be in the office by9 am. So do the dash-in-and-out technique in order to save yourself from a hangover and a seriously-fatigued body.
